I know this is an old thread, but I couldn't resist! I have a CD of Bond theme songs, and the version of Thunderball (different than the movie version, much higher key) is easily my fave. Tom Jones can really sing with his testes. Also, From Russia With Love, I love the Russian strings (balalaikas I think) on it.
What no one has mentioned is the original Bond theme most of the others are based on, the instrumental Dr. No theme. It's easily the quintessential Bond theme as you hear it in some form in all of the movies.
Now, the award for the WORST Bond theme (at least on my CD which has none of the new ones, in which case Madonna's song would win)...................
The Living Daylights by Aha (one hit song and they get a Bond theme? Sheesh!)
