Audi confirms production of e-Tron concept: 3319 lb/ft & 313 bhp

Audi of America president Johan de Nysschen: “I expect we will see running examples in the next 24 months.” So even though the Volt is a car for idiots (agreed), Audi has apparently fallen for the eco nonsense after all.

Preliminary specs: 0-62 in 4.8 seconds, topspeed about 124 MPH.

Still, >3k lb/ft TQ...

They can do whatever the hell they want as long as it doesn't include the ugliest grille and wheels known to man in the final design.

Those wheels should be a hoot to clean. And imagine the grille after an autobahn-run a hot summer day. Total bugville...

Interested in the car nonetheless and whether we like it or not - these car's will be a reality faster than I think we realise.

That was my initial guess, but wasn't sure. 4500Nm and it only goes to 62 in 4.8 secs?! It should be doing it in like 1 second with that kind of force!
