Thoughts? What are some good rifle options out there?

 

Yep, but I have no longer have an practical purpose other than just because.

I've become a huge fan of LWRC and Patriot Ordinance gas piston rifles. I have the 6.8 from LWRC, and it is pretty cool simply from a versatility standpoint. You can interchange the 6.8 lower with .22, .223, and 6.8 uppers.

If you're shopping for a sweet AR, I cannot state it enough: Check out LWRC and/or Patriot Ordinance. I love mine. My LWRC AR has nearly 2k rounds through it, and hasn't been cleaned; not one failure to fire.

 

If you can find it Barret makes a real nice 6.8

 

Thanks, I will check both of those out. Speaking of ARs in general, have you had any experience with Wilson or LMT?

 

LWRC...yummy. I wish choke would stop teasing me with his damn LWRC.

 

Choke, do you know any about the 6.5 grendel? I find that round to be of interest as well...I'm in the process of picking up an AR.

 

The barrett 6.8 is a great rifle.

 

I'd buy 6.8 if it weren't a specialized round. Too much inexpensive surplus 5.56 and 7.62 out there. Also, not much chance of a buddy or battlefield pickup with 6.8.
