Lets talk revolvers
I've been considering this as of late and my wife would like to have a revolver around because of pure bonehead simplicity and accuracy for home defense and a light bear gun. (black bear, discourage a possible attack, not hunting)
So, I initially though about the Taurus raging bull because too much is never enough.
Then I thought better of it and why not a .357? Good knock down power, generally available 7 shot, accurate and cheaper plinking with .38.
So, the S&W 686 is a tried and true workhorse of a gun. Hard to go wrong here.
Also I looked at Taurus model 66 which isn't in the same class/price range but by most accounts is a solid and reliable gun.
And yes, I know .44 mag would be a better bear gun but my wife has to like/shoot it and I think that a full frame .44 mag like the raging bull would put her off. Thats a man's weapon.

I do have to say that I liked the feel of the 686 better. Hadn't even thought about the colt python, one of the best guns evah.
Socal, not looking for a CCW gun, I've got an HK USP 9 for that. This will be a medium frame, at least 6 shot.
