The laws are certainly different, however firearms like cars (for the most part) are a luxury not a necessity. Both can be used irresponsibly, and both in the wrong hands are very dangerous. A gun is an inanimate object and will not go off by itself, I pride myself in being a very responsible firearms owner. I also strive to inform those around me about safe and responsible handling and shooting.
I will tell you one thing, I have lost a LOT of money (relatively) buying and selling cars over the years (I am young, 25 years old) I have NEVER lost a penny in regards to firearms.
Again thank you for the warm welcome and I can absolutely see how you could be unnerved with the current firearms laws you live under (it really is a fantastic and challenging sport though)

Yeah, we're lucky with our women. Although I'm not in the equestrian circuit myself, I do have friends with numerous horses. Gorgeous animals that exude power and elegance.
You're right, under our current laws it is impossible to see so many guns together in one place. If we do, it usually ends up in the news with some maniac getting arrested.
