Selectable semi-auto/automatic with keyhole opening in the slide for increased rapid fire control?

p.s. Sorry.

Because it's an afterthought. Grab the slide and pull back to release like everyone on the planet.

I'd like to be in a civil union with a pair of G18's.

BadAss... I am actually looking for a G19 - being new to the Gun World, when I first saw the photo I was like WTF a G18?? Whats with the weird thing on the back of the slide?? After finding out, Im in awe...

Curve - after doing hours of research for my upcoming gun purchase, you can get the extended slide release, which I heard is much better

On the same note - Looking at G19/17, SW M&P 9, and SA XD9. I've shot the G17, and the Compact M&P 9, actually liked both, but for obvious reason the G17 had a bit less recoil so the wifey liked it better. Opinions?

The Glock slide "release" is actually nothing of the sort. It's only function is to lock the slide, not release it. You're supposed to "hand over" vs. "slingshot" release the slide manually. Ideally, you don't go to slide lock anyway - you should always tactically reload.

As for the Glock 18, I came this >< close to shooting one a couple years back. If a dipshit student hadn't fired over the berm with it the day before, I'd have been able to run a couple hundred rounds through it. It's still one of the few guns I REALLY want to shoot before I die. A PSG-1 is another.
