The marine crew came through today in a huge way. They always bring out the toys, and this time it was a heavy barrel, suppressed, ridiculously good scoped, bipod AR-15. Wow, just like a hollywood silenced assassin gun, you can't miss. Had to have been 2k+ in special purpose AR. Gonna resist the call to build one though as I might movie to communist CA soon.

 

$2k would be a bargain!

I had one for a few years, great rifles.

But, not as accurate as a Remington 700, and too heavy to be used like an M4, so a bit of a compromise whichever way you look at it.

 

Thats not it, but similar. Shorter range scope, probably a 4x? but super clear with range finder reticle. I've got a pic but with the friends shooting who probably don't want it on the web.

And you are correct, it was very front heavy, wouldn't be nearly as good a short range/tactical weapon. m700 or 7mm mag is far more accurate at range. But it was still fun to shoot it.

Mythic, that is exactly what I was talking about. I'd be retarded and order one on my iphone from the range without thinking it through.

Choke and Dr. T, no shit. I looked and the suppressor alone is almost 1k with the transfer tax. I know what this guy does for a living now, and judging by all the toys either he lives really modest and just buys guns, or he is getting a hookup from his former profession.
