New gun advise

Looking for some ideas for a new gun. It will be my first time purchasing and will be used for targets and trees. Looking for a pistol. Any help will be appreciated.

Pistols

I don't know what caliber you are looking for. I prefer a 9mm myself. In my opinion the HK USP collection is outstanding.

Thanks,

Tyler

Glocks are very popular. They're light weight and extremely durable and reliable. They don't have a safety though which bothers me. The Beretta 92 FS is a nice gun. I would have to say that personally, besides HK, Sigs are my favorite. Sigs are used by the Secret Service which is a good indication of their quality.

I recommend the 1911. Great accuracy, ergonomics, and an unmatched trigger.

Can also be finnicky as hell. Higher maintenance and can jam like a mofo. Glocks seem to be a very popular starter pistol. Easy as hell to maintain, indestructible, affordable.

This reminds me of the scene in Black Hawk Down when the Delta guys told the captain in command that their trigger finger is the safety.

Wasn't a fan of the glock when it was in my hand, so I went with an XD. Go out there and try them out.

I guess in short, I'd go with either an HK or a Sig.
