The POF .308 has arrived. I'd just about given up on POF. Now I'm in serious need of optics for these guys....may take a while ......

Very nice! My POF .308 20" upper just came in a couple of months ago after about 1 year of waiting. Need to mount up the US Optics glass and try it out.

I just checked out the POF website. Absolutely incredible.

Excuse my ignorance, but why does it take so long to get these?

Obviously, they are custom made. But over a year seems almost punitive.

 

POF has made some business decisions that pretty much ignore the small gun shops. They don't sell direct and they fill orders from large accounts first. I ordered from my local shop in Nov '08 (just after the marxist was elected) and paid in full up front. Months later Cabelas decided to carry POF. Cabelas suddenly had POF .308s in stock while my order just kept getting pushed back. This pissed off a lot of people who canceled their orders but from a business standpoint I guess it makes sense.
