Gun permits from other states would be honored in Maryland if one state lawmaker gets his way.
Republican Delegate Michael Smigiel Sr., of Cecil County, is proposing a change in the state's firearms law to honor handgun permits issued by Virginia, Pennsylvania and Delaware.
The new rule would also be valid for licenses to carry concealed guns.
A hearing on the proposal is scheduled for this afternoon.
Current law requires Maryland gun applicants must be 18 years old or older and have a "good and substantial reason" to carry the handgun.
Virginia already honors permits from other states with which it has reciprocity agreements.

Has been shut down in MD before. Will not happen, as you CANNOT get a CCW in MD, they WIL NOT honor reciprocity.
A CCW in MD is allwoing a business owner to carry a gun from his place of business to the bank to deposit his money. That is it. That is how limited the CCW is in MD. If you have such a CCW and are caught with a gun not on your way to or from bank/business the gun haters here will make short process of you and your permit.
