The REPR arrives

Nope, DI. I'm now starting to adopt the POV that if you don't shoot a lot of suppressed, a piston is probably overkill especially if you're using a high quality lube like SLIP2000

On a more serous note, how much noise does a suppressor actually cut? Aren't most noises coming from the bolt/extractor area? Seems like it to me.

On a .308 the noise reduction is AWESME most cases about 30db and if you shoot EBR sub-sonics then it is so stupid quiet you cannot believe it. .223 is a little harder to suppress the "crack" of the bullet going sonic. Another great feature is that a can actually can help enhance the accuracy of a good rifle.

Maybe instead of paying close to a mil for a postage stamp POS house I should move to TX and have my 4 car garage and this mythical "can" that you people speak of.

Seriously though, that's cool. So 30db down on what like 168 grain FMJ? How much does it lower the fps?

yep depending on loading how much pressure through the "can" and atmospheric conditions "weather" yes you can increase velocity. One BIG prob with any can is POA/POI shift between can and no can. So when you do a BZO it has to be one with one with and set your "dope" up accordingly. I have my .223 precision coming back from the smith from being threaded any day and I have a whole of ES sub-sonic .223 ammo just itching to go down range.
