all the small bullets won't help, you need to blow the head off to stop them. Ak 47, a few burst and empty, and one bullet won't do much. Hard to blow a head off unless you are real close and you still need multiple hits. I am still with the the 20 shot auto shot gun, that is 20 down with one mag, you will not get 20 down with on,e mag and an AK-47.

 

I agree with Josh. The author is a moron and shows their ignorance, stupidity or laziness on not knowing their facts regarding weapon platforms. Regardless, I'd rather have a 16 to 18" AR10 w/ a KAC muzzle brake. I think either the REPR or KAC Battle Rifle would make for a great choice.

Your facts are incorrect. As evidenced by all zombie films and backed up by the official Zombie Survival Guide, you do not need to blow the head off, just kill the brain. One 7.62 round will do the trick.
Carrying extra magazines for that shotgun will be much more prohibitive than for the AK47. The AA-12 is a great room sweeper, but as a run and gun type weapon, it will suck.

 

I have to agree with Josh. An AK-47 will more than destroy the brain, and if zombies did exist it would more than get the job done. An AK is much more mobile and practical for use than a giant automatic shotgun, and you could carry much more ammo. The AK is also not just a spray and pray weapon like they show in the movies. It has a single-shot and fully-auto setting, so if you have decent marksmanship skills and don't freak out, you could definitely get a kill per shot, and get some quick reloads in while wearing a chest-rig (plus a backpack full of spare mags) if it ever came to that. My $0.02...

 

course you can shoot single shot but not when you are on the run, sorry but shooting from the hip and you will not hit the brain, but a shotgun will, point and shoot.

^It all comes down to the shooter and his ability to stay cool in a sh*it situation. And the only way you will hit anything with a shotgun is to point and shoot, just like any other weapon. Shotguns are inherently inaccurate weapons, so they would need that much more control by the shooter to score head shots... Really, it just comes down to a matter of preference.

Like I said before, cache some shelf-stable food and enough water for 2 months, camp out on an impregnable buildings rooftop, play "zombie hunt" all day, and outlast them. It could be done, seeing as how they would run out of food after a month anyway, and starve to death thereafter. Plus, humans can go without food for ~30 days, maybe a little more. So, if push came to shove and you ran out of food 2 months in, you would make it. Well, some would...
