.22?

Any suggestions for a .22 to get for my wife? we went to our range last night around midnight for the first time together and although she like firing the 9mm, it was still a little much for her. I don't have anything smaller than 9mm capacity and was hoping to pick up a decent .22.

Are they basically all the same? or is there really something worth looking for in them? No need to break the bank here.

Thanks

Go to Walmart or Academy and pick up a Marlin semi-automatic. They are very well made and extremely accurate.

I just realized you may be looking for a pistol. If so, then get a Browning.

Personally, I'd have her get used to a rifle first, then get a hand gun.

Ruger 10/22 riffle or a Ruger or Walther 22 pistol.

I came up shooting a S&W model 41 .22 like this one:

Not sure if you want to spend that kind of coin but it is a remarkable gun!
ALso, you could pick up a 1911 with a .22LR conversion kit. Good excuse to get a new gun that you can both enjoy.

Ruger 10/22 rifle, Mark III Competition pistol. Those two are as utilitarian as salt and pepper shakers for a given home, IMO.

My girlfriend mostly shoots my Kimber 1911 .22 at the range. But it's not cheap.

For some reason she has no interest in any rifles so we have to go the handgun route. Thanks for all the ideas, I should be able to easily work with what you guys mentioned. I will update when i pick something new up.

All Kimbers are unfortunately illegal in MA so that idea won't fly (legally).

Siegrist, I know MA has an "approved list" of guns. Is there a legit reason for this (I'm sure they say it's for safety) or is it just bs?

My custom Ruger 22 is one of my favorites. Custom trigger assembly by Volquartsen, bull barrel, laminated stock and a Leopold scope.
