Russ, sounds like you have big plans this weekend. 18K rounds must mean one thing: Gun Party! the only thing better than going to the range and clicking off a few is doing it with friends......right?

A couple of friends and I are doing a tactical handgun course in a couple of weeks, and we each have to provide our own 4,000 rounds to shoot. It'll all disappear over that weekend.

If I saw that much in one place, I'd snatch as much as I could carry. And actually, yes, there is a bit of a market induced shortage!
