What is the general price and availability difference between 5.56 and 6.8? Trying to decide between the two.
Thanks

Let no zombies stand in the way.

I've gone back and forth on this a few times as well for my POF .308 build. I ended up sticking with 20". My logic was that I already have another hard hitting caliber in a carbine format, so I would like to maximize the range of the .308. Plus i'll be setting it up with a regular scope and not a holo sight, so the extra range and accuracy will be a nice added bonus.

My buddies 14.7" LWRC M6A2 in 6.8 is a very nice rifle. It has slightly more recoil then my Sig 556 rifle, but it's not a huge difference. 6.8 ammo is more exensive and more difficult to find then 5.56/.223. If you already had something in 5.56 I'd look into the 6.8, otherwise I would probably get the 5.56 first due to ammo cost/supply. 6.8 is supposed to be more "effective" on human targets, but I doubt many of us will ever have the need for that situation, and I sure wouldn't want to get hit by any of the 5.56 rounds I shoot either.

If you looking for a bigger boom then the 5.56, just get the SABR.

I just got Evans newsletter and it says LWRC has stopped taking SABR orders and that if you dont already have an order in that you have to wait until they get up to speed. Maybe this doesn't apply to us but it certainly looks like it.

I signed up for it but haven't received it. I definitely want to get on board here before I am out of pocket for 6-8 weeks... I PM'ed Choke and registered on the site.
