Any thoughts on PSG1

I am looking at a used psg1 at the range and I was wondering what you guys thought of it, and also what a good price would be roughly.

thanks,
bill

Is this a legit PSG and not a conversion? Depending on condition, I've seen them go from 5 to 20k. I recently saw one go around 10k out of Austin.

If you have the means, they are definitely a nice piece to any collection, but I think you can do much better from a cheaper and more accurate bolt-action rifle.

Nice to see you're out collecting firearms...now get out to the range and practice!

It's an awesome rifle. I could see an unfired one go for $20K. If you can get it for $10K, I think that's worth it. The last new one I sold was for $8800 IIRC (in 1994).

Yup good luck finding one, and if you do, be prepared to pay. I would rather get a few different guns for the price of a PSG-1. It is pretty over-rated IMHO.

I have to agree with you. I'd get a KAC Mk11 MOD 0 instead (i.e. SR-25). Less than half the price and (arguably) more accurate. Plus it gives much more flexibility in scope choice.

H&K PSG 1 : Semi-auto at GunBroker.com

Good luck bidding. Looks decent & I have no affiliation with the seller...just a simple courtesy heads up.

That guy did a crap job cleaning it... I also love the "Made in West Germany" stamp. Regardless of the price, practicality, etc., PSG-1s will always be gun porn.
