Whoa...
Who'd a thunk that this was really possible.
Outstanding.
YouTube - FCS Quick Kill
Now, when they manage to make this vehicle mounted, we will all have to right a check for AWESOME.

Looks like this particular system may only work on big vehicles.
"Lightly armored vehicles such as the Humvee are unlikely ever to get [Quick Kill-style] defenses," says Defense News' Greg Grant. "The blast pressures generated when the incoming warhead detonates would buckle lightly armored vehicles."

VERY impressive system to say the least. For those of you on here that have never seen an actual RPG fire, it is NOT that Hollywood BS where you see it in flight all slow like an arrow and can just jump out of the way. They are a very fast, very nasty round. The warhead is a shaped charge that shoots a plasma (read: F'ing HOT) jet through it's target. Between the plasma jet and the overpressure, you are done. If this system can knock out an RPG round in flight, that's no slouch. If it can knock out MULTIPLE RPG rounds in flight, you couldn't ask for better while trying to un-ass the area during an ambush.
Definitely a system I'll be keeping my eye on! Good find.

Wow. I just watched the video a little more closely. The defensive round simply fires in the projected vicinity of the inbound RPG shot. The defensive round detonates, and the pressure wave from the blast triggers the proximity fuse on the RPG warhead, in turn causing it to detonate well away from the target.
I'd need to see more footage (ideally from a high speed camera) to really tell whether the pressure wave diverts the plasma jet at all or if it still impacts the target at some diminished capacity.
