Very, very nice of you to join TS.

I hope that more and more people will come to appreciate your great company.

Last summer a Dutch owner took his CC8S to the TT-circuit which is near my house. Very impressive and intimidating in real life.

Also there was one of the very first models @ the Autorai 2001 (or 2003) with the 6 front lights.

Junus or Jens: how many of these types where there actually made and are there any still driving around? Is this one also called CC8S or just CC8 or...?

Welcome to the forum and regards,

Robert

The CC8S was our first production car, the car you saw at Autorai was a prototype. Its quite rare as we only built 6 cars all in all, 4 LHD and 2 RHD. It was succeeded by the CCR which is based on the CC8S, but with upgraded brakes, better aero, more aggressive design, better chassis, more power etc etc. We built 14 CCR in total. I really like these early cars. They are shorter, lower, lighter and a lot of fun to drive in their own rights. Of course the later cars are more technically advanced, much faster and a lot more refined, but both cars, in particular the CCR with some upgrades are still a very competent and fast hyper car by any measures. Put some modern tires on a CCR, and you would be amazed how well it stands up against more modern competition.

Although it looks similar, the CCX was a totally new car. Hard to see in pictures, but if you it parked next to CC8S or CCR you would see this easily.

The first 'egg I saw was in Ft. Lauderdale in 2003. I couldn't believe I got to check it out. It was in a small time garage and I believe was the first one in the states. I was given the opportunity to open the doors, sit in it and look over the car. The car was shown at the Miami auto show the day after I saw it. I remember the guys saying they raced hulk hogans red/yellow rt10. Here is a pic I have from that day. Actually the first koenigsegg pictured on exotic spotter.

What make/model did this car fall under? I think they may have said it had been repainted. Maybe it was red before? Hard to remember at this point.

That is a CC8S. One of only 4 produced LHD, so a rare beast indeed!

exRockstar in the other thread expressed interest on the electric future of Koenigsegg; has made me remember.
It is public knowledge, that future laws to regulate the levels of CO emissions and fuel consumption will become more stringent. This has led many companies to address other technologies, such as hybrid or electric and others wait to see how the market responds to these new products. In 2009 Koenigsegg introduced the Quant, something ahead at the time, as far as we refer supercar. My question is whether this project is still latent. Thanks

I've always been following that project very close. I'm afraid at the moment, or at least for the last two years, its stoped.

Koenigsegg only acted like consultors, technology, design, etc partner. The brand is NLV. The person behind is Nunzio la Vecchia. He is just like Elon Musk. A genious with to little time to spear around at least in this life. An also an inventor! A really good one! And a singer.....Google the name and you will find who he is. Also reminds me of Christian.

But anyways, the project its stopped. But the technology in the paper was revolutionary, or at least very, very competitive. Aswelll the whole car philosofy.

^exRockstar, thank you very much for the info. I've been reading for a long time, did not know about this musician and his brilliance as scientific. It's a shame that the project was not continued. Maybe Koenigsegg can use part of the investment (I+D) made in the Quant, for future projects, something like the Jaguar company.
