The Final Days of Mosler
#22
Last I heard, they will still build road cars to order.

Fantastic video, thanks for sharing!
I knew Mosler had been for sale for a long time, I had not heard it had finally been sold. So many questions -- will Roisson continue to build the cars in Florida? Will they still carry the Mosler name? Will they spend the time and money to ensure they remain U.S. legal as complete cars? Or will they be sold as component cars like the Roisson? How much experience does Roisson have with composites? What happens to all those old Consuliers?
Way back in the early 90's, the Consulier GTP was the official car of TrackTime Performance Driving School. At my first ever track day there were two there. Later on, one of the veteran students bought a bright red one and ran it for many years. It was always among the fastest cars in Group A, even with only the original 2.2 liter Chrysler engine. That car was later purchased by a guy I know, who once planned to swap in a Cobalt SS drivetrain. He still has it, and the original engine. I bug him about it sometimes, but he says it's not for sale.
Love or hate the styling, the cars were years ahead of their time. They beat the carbon monocoque McLaren F1 to market by six years, if I'm not mistaken. The MT900S was no doubt an improvement, but simply didn't get the notice it deserved. Mosler never promoted the car hard enough. I suppose it didn't help that they sold so few that the price remained so high.
There was that one 2012 Mosler RaptorGTR that did achieve certification, which is a whole 'nother story unto itself. Hopefully Roisson can build on that and bring out a new batch of Mosler MT900S cars. Or whatever they will be called. VERY interested to see where this goes from here.
Thanks again Boxer for sharing this!

RP High Performance acquires Rossion and Mosler
You may have heard some rumors, theories, what ifs.. But it is now official, RP High Performance a privately owned company has finalized the acquisition of the assets of Rossion Automotive and Mosler Automotive. The new company will operate under the Rossion brand with Ian Grunes as President. This deal brings together all the assets of both companies under one roof and management team.
The Mosler name will no longer be used and all new cars produced will carry the Rossion name. The purchase of Mosler allows Rossion to produce and sell more models of vehicles, using the resources and expertise of both companies.
Mosler has a great history based in racing and tremendous amounts of experience in using composites like carbon fiber to produce strong, lightweight and very competitive vehicles. Rossion looks forward to using this technology and expertise to introduce exciting new models in 4, 6 and 8 cylinder configurations to the Rossion line up.
