Record Breaking Run for Maxximus LNG 2000
4 world speed recoords broken at South Georgia Moorsports Park on January 23rd by Maxximus LNG 2000 including 0-60MPH in a staggering 1.96 seconds
Los Angeles, California – February 8, 2012 – It was a day for the automotive history books when the Maxximus LNG 2000, the brainchild of financier Bruce McMahan and Indianapolis based designer Marlon Kirby, took to the track and shattered four world records, making it not only the world’s fastest street legal car but the fastest LNG powered supercar ever created. While others may claim records through bravado and hyperbole the Maxximus team, which holds proprietary technology for LNG systems, is now the proud holder of a vehicle poised to revolutionize our gas guzzling habits and replace them with eco friendly technology that can reduce our dependence on foreign fuel sources.

These cars are all equipped with on board technology developed by Maxximus that identifies all alternative fuel sources locally, regionally and nationally. Centaur Performance Group specializes in credit, relative value and niche energy strategies. Centaur’s energy team allocates investment capital to private, continental U.S. based oil and natural gas assets and the production of American energy resources. Recently, Hedge Week named Centaur’s credit strategy as the Best Credit Fund of 2009. Centaur is headquartered on Fisher Island, FL, with affiliate offices in Bermuda and Rancho Santa Fe, California.
As Co-Founder and Chairman of the National Cristina Foundation (NCF), McMahan leads a non-profit organization with more than seven hundred worldwide affiliations. Its mission is to support the international development of technology applications for people with special needs. The Foundation originated the concept of technology reuse in 1983 and specializes in redistributing computers and other electronic hardware from corporations and individuals who have outgrown the technology and making them available to those in need.

- No idea, but I show you two of them property of Jon Olsson (these two don't look like kit-cars):

I'm sorry but this article is just rubbish. The only unique thing about this car is the fact it runs on LNG. It’s an Ultima plain and simple and to state otherwise is an outright lie.
As for being the fastest streetcar, give me a break. How do they classify a streetcar? If it’s a road legal car that passes all the legal requirements in its land of origin then I can point you to a number of cars that would make this thing look dead slow.
As an example Andy Frost in the UK has just taken his car to a six second run, you can see it hear:
Andy Frost's first 6 second run in Red Victor 3 - YouTube!
And here you can see it being driven on the road in England where it is fully street legal. The fact is things that a street legal car in in the USA could get away with would never be allowed in the UK

And lets not forget that a couple of US based street cars are even faster than Andy's
