Pagani Huayra - A Documentary

The Pagani Huayra is not just the pinnacle of automotive engineering, it's a true work of rolling art. But its birth was not from a fleeting moment of passion, rather it was years of carefully cultivated love.

Its origins began in 2003, around the time of the Zonda S Roadster. The Zonda had been done (as a base design) and so work began on designing the next generation of Pagani supercar. Wind was Horacio Pagani's inspiration. Says Pagani, "[Wind] is ever present in our lives: a jet turbine, the silence of a glider... the elegance of the movements the wind creates...but also the violence and force that it can unleash."

The Huayra comprises over 4000 components - and that's apart from the engine and gearbox - and it's this assembly and meticulous care that sets Pagani apart from other Italian car makers.

Very cool video and great write up. I'm really loving this car. I wasn't so convinced on the design at the beginning. Thought it looked like a cat fish, but now I just think it's beautiful.

Incredible video. I love seeing the process of how something like this is born and taken from thoughts and concepts to the real deal. Although I still don't love the way the car looks, I understand why it was designed the way it was and can't get over the attention to detail. True masterpiece.

 

My respect for Horacio Pagani became even bigger after seeing this video. What a genius.
