I really respect what SSC did with the exterior of this car, it was a major step forward and looked a hell of a lot more daring and creative than what we were seeing from the Italians at the same time.
Sadly, they might just have undone a lot of that good work with this interior. Its unfathomably bad. The centre console could very well be the worst piece of automotive design since..........ever. It looks like something from a 1970s Dr Who episode. God forbid if Jeremey Clarkson and co get there mitts on this. If they go ahead with this design they well may end up being a laughing stock - SSC need to write off this design and start from scratch with something that compliments the lines of the exterior.
That 'TUATARA' logo is also totally inappropriate. It looks ugly and old fashioned and just not suited to the car.
All that said, this is still a fantastic car, but I hope they can give it the interior its deserves.

This interior was the winning entry in a contest SSC had to design the interior for the Tuatara.

Totally ridiculous they relied on some half assed contest to design the interior of this car. They should have done the proper thing and hired a respected professional designer to do the interior as they did with Jason Castriota and the exterior. Jason did a phenomenal job on the car and I can't imagine he's too pleased with how the interior turned out.

Why do kit car interiors always look so shit? It can't be hard to design a decent interior, surely? It can't be a cost thing can it?

I think they are simply trying too hard.

Absolute insanity. I don't blame the designer - I blame the individual who chose the winner......

I agree with this. It is just overdone. Especially those circle vent things they took from the fenders. Way overused. The other vents look non-adjustable. It is trying too hard to be futuristic like the exterior. SSC is great because of the simplicity; RWD, light weight, manual transmission, etc. I think I would prefer the Ultimate Aero interior in the Tuatara. It is nice, but basic. Keeping focus on the fact that it is a hardcore sports car. This interior is also too square, lots of rectangles, and trying too hard to be like a futuristic spaceship.
