It's not like it was built from scratch requiring the big price tag to recover some of the R&D money. Stretch a chassis and body and plop a big hp motor in the back doesn't make the car worth anywhere near $900k.

I think the car is AWESOME, the concept of using the pre-certified bits from lotus is brilliant, and quite frankly I think the car looks amazing.
No one complains when other super cars use suspension, engine or trannys from other mfgrs, why not passenger cockpits?
Its a special car, I hope he sells many and goes on to develop more.

Another way to look at it- Do you think the development was so that this watch needs to be 75k each?

At the end of the day, you can put any price on any item and if someone is willing to spend that much for that item, then they will. It is the same for a watch as it is a car.
There is no way Mr. Hennessey spent anywhere near that much in development on that car, even spread over just a thirty car run, period the end. But, I'm sure some Arab Sheik will come along, to whom money is no object, and will buy the car. And I am sure there are 29 other people in the world who will do that as well, and so I don't begrudge him selling the car at that price, if there are people willing to buy.
For us mere mortals, even the wealthy ones, I'm looking to pay around $250K for that car, or else, for that kind of money, I am going to spend it on somethings else.
