The launch is going on now in Bahrain and i cannot make it

 

mclaren is probably the most exciting new car this decade. so much win in this car.

 

There are 3-4 exciting options in the pipe line, but they will only be available after 1st year of official production.

The one is a inboard camera in the cabin and front of the car which you can record videos. The car then links directly to you PC via Wi-Fi and you can download the videos and data for that day.

In some pictures the car's design is not really striking, but in person you can appreciate all the little details.

Definitely. The rear half is my favourite parts. The attention to detail on the engine bay, with it's organic shapes and forms. How the engine bay transitions into the external panels are beautiful!

The technology as well is very impressive. For example, the front does not have an anti-roll bar. It uses hydraulic fluids. To save weight, it runs that system off the power steering pump simultaneously. The air brake is also run via the oil in the gearbox, where as on the SLR it had a separate motor which added extra weight.


The indicator and wiper stalks also have a very cool futuristic design. The list goes on.

The carbon tub and magnesium frame for the dash also makes the price amazing. I still don't understand how they kept it this low with the technology used.

 

Seems like a great event. I love new Mac, seems to be great car and amazing value for its money. Also congrats one more time on your Mac order Mike. Are the delivery dates set already?

 

Wow, I didn't know the engine sat that low in the car! It's almost touching the ground Must be an awesome weight distribution on this car.

The car looks a lot like the original F1 to me. Isn't the price point just above $200k USD? That's a lot of car for that money IMHO.

 

The options are very interesting. It is certainly growing on me. I wish they offered that amazing manual from the F1 and had lower rounded exhaust tips.
