Gumpert at Geneva Motorshow March 2010

Thanks to Bastian and Marc keeping us lowly American's "in the loop".

Here are some shots of what is happening in Geneva this week. I keep waiting for the pics of the warm beer that is rumored to be served in Genf, but, so far, only pics of these unbelievable apollo's.

Both of these cars were developed for customers. If you look closely, and know what to look for, you can even see some inspiration from Zuccone and Gumpert having too much salsa in November.

Geri from Redlign said it right, "there is just no sensible way to choose... white or black... you just need one of each..."

Now some more pics and then some bullets about these cars, new features and developments.

Who drives like this!!!? I've never seen a corner from that angle, that fast!

Roland Gumpert (R) meeting with the European Press during "Press Day"

The apollo is all about "personalization". How about this key for YOUR Gumpert? Shown last year, the customized key must be special ordered with the car... price tag... give or take 7K Euros...

The 2010 Gumpert apollo's offer the following new features and technology improvements:

·New front and rear aerodynamic design package
·Doors composed of sight-carbon* fiber
·New carbon fiber underbody
·LED daytime running lamps
·New HRE wheels with Michelin Tires in 19”/20”
·New exhaust design
·New alarm system
·New sight-carbon fiber monocoque for more legroom
·New front radiators with carbon fiber brackets
·New paddle shift gearbox
·New right hand drive option
·Plus many more component options for the 750HP platform

*Sight-carbon is a German description for the quality of the Carbon fiber weave that is exposed. Sight-carbon must be a very high quality weave and a very high standard of fit & finish.

A few more pics are here:

Stay tuned for more to come from Bastian and Marc.

...und Tschüss!

That's so awesome. Really cool key too.

Do you guys think you'll trailer up a Gumpert for one of the MN Cars & Cafe this year? It'd be awesome to see one, that's for sure.

In a perfect world. It's an awful long way but it would be a great trip.

The paddel shifters are optional. The shif knob is obviously for the standard sequential set up.

Yup. It's a new option for 2010. Normally I am not a fan of letting the car do the shifting for you but in this case it is a welcome addition. Lots-o-fun!!
