Got to Florida last week and had some time with it. Blast to drive and will be taking it to the Super Car Experience this weekend.

Very nice! I certainly wouldn't mind having one in my garage... So, what's it like to drive? How does it compare to more recent supercars like LP640s, CGTs, etc?

Only for a second, but there is some XJ220 action here, and I think you will find the other cars relevant to your interests:

I love jag in general (i have one), but the xj220 it s absolutely the top!!! Never forget it was the speedest car in the world (bummer, just a couple of months later the mclaren f1 arrived...) and still now when i look at her i remain astonished: its design is so wonderful and strange, so wide..a jaguar like no others, but still a Jaguar!

This is a car my friend commissioned Tom Walkinshaw to build him as the baddest XJ220 ever produced for the street. Tom was going to build 3 but after this one, it was to much work and so much money in labor it was not cost effective, per him. Don't understand why he couldn't of just raised the price but oh well. It is street legal and we think in the neighborhood of 700hp. The car met all requirements to be entered in the GT class at LeMans. I can tell you 1 thing, it runs about 1.8bar @ wot and shoots 12" flames on up shifts. You hear everything since there is no sound deadening material and the honeycomb frame creaks even when swerving back and forth in your lane. The suspension has a little play for loading but not much and like many older cars you really have to lay into the brake pedal to get it to stop. I had to get the 959 out also and the brake pedal is similar.

Power is awesome though and you can tell if the track is big enough, or road, that the thing would be a blast at speed. The problem is having a 108" wheelbase it takes a lot of road to really play with the car. No back road throw it around with ease with this one. I can't imagine what it feels like to get it sideways with the length of the car. Great car and still get more looks then most anything on the road.

This and the 959 just feel more raw then the 997 Turbo's and lp640's of today. These being so unique compare power wise and even suspension but we also are comparing supercars to street cars. It just reminds you of how far cars have come, it took $800k to have it 16 years ago and it takes you $200k today.
