the pictures don't really look recent, but a lighter, more powerful veyron can't be a bad thing.

thnx for sharing.

There are rumors circulating that Bugatti will make the final version of the Veyron and will name it Grand Prix. Some sources suggest that the car will be about 250 kg lighter with the whole body made from carbon fiber with reworked air vents and active aerodynamics, engine will be reworked as well, some sources suggest that Bugatti chief of engineering Wolfgang Schreiber is working with his team on the flex-fuel direct injection version of the engine which will allow higher revvs, about 7500 rpm and about 1200 hp power output. Expect styling, brakes, transmission and wheels to be slightly upgraded to handle the incresed maximum speed and acceleration. Interior will be rather unique as well and aluminium panels are rumored to replaced with carbon fiber.

This pics were taken this autumn, there were some other pics taken in this period of time, there are three mules running around, some with german VW HQ number plates, some with french Bugatti factory plates. Some of the pics were taken after the presentation of the Galibier 16C.

Rumors about testing Galibier 16C engine are not true, there is no use in testing engine for front-engined car in a Veyron mule, they have Bentley Mulsanne mules for this purpose.

So if these sources are really trustworthy than we can expect Veyron Grand Prix to be launched next year, the safer bet would be Paris auto show 2010.
