I was leaving the Getty Villa in Malibu yesterday heading north on PCH. I few moments later I see this dark gray or black car coming up on me. I knew it was something special, maybe a Ford GT, Carrera GT, Ferrari or something. As it got up behind me I thought maybe a Rossion. My wife asked what it was. It's a KOENIGSEGG! Wow. It just hung out content behind me for a couple miles and then turned up Las Flores canyon.

I saw two red 599 GTB's and a new California on the drive home but a Koenigsegg? now that's special. Someone has to know if there is one driving around Malibu. My wife thinks It was a Ferrari. I know my Ferrari's and that wasn't one.

I thought you could'nt get those to pass smog or something in Cali... So technically they were not "street legal"

 

Don't know. Like I said when it came up on my ass, I thought it was a Rossion, but it didn't have the same head lights and no hood vent. Plus it had the very round windshield and was very wide in back.

They are legal. There are a few up here (nor cal). I don't have any specs or anything on how it is street legal, but there is a silver one (with CA plates) that gets spotted repeatedly in and around menlo park / palo alto area and sometimes cruising on the dumbarton bridge.

I do know of one Koenigsegg CCX in CA. It was for sale on 6speed awhile ago for like $1.4M or something. Not sure if it ever sold but I think it was last seen in the bay area.

 

I know of a black one in that area. There's also a yellow zonda c12s in Malibu too, and a lot of other cool shit that never gets driven.

 

Could have been black I suppose.

 

Yup that was on multiple forums. The owner of Premiere Protective Films was selling it for a friend. Don't know if it ever sold. Hopefully stays in the bay so maybe I could see it one day
