I'm sorry but that famous movie line "Who's the U-Boat Commander?" comes to mind.

One of the fastest cars in the world - reaching more than 400 km/h--, the Bugatti Veyron sells for about $ 2 million (U.S. $ 3.4 million), according to the report.

The man was uninjured, but the vehicle was almost submerged. The driver was devastated by the accident. He said that the Bugatti Veyron is the car world's rarest and is not something you can simply replace ".

He said he had the accident after being distracted by a pelican and lose control of the car. So far, according to the newspaper, were manufactured about 200 units of the Bugatti Veyron and there are only 15 in the United States.

I am just curious, how much does a veyron go for? I have seen that this car was for sale for $1.6m, this thread title says $2m and in the article is says $3.4m. That seems like quite a bit of variation, are some people quoting prices for special editions (of which there are about a million) or the new Grand Sport?

I always thought the coupe had a range of $1.2m - $1.6m. I believe the vert is around $2m.

ironically enough the guy runs a business rebuilding salvaged exotic cars

In initial reports, House's name wasn't revealed (oh, the shame). But police ID'd him, and it turns out he owns a company that restores luxury cars. How handy! Celebs including Arnold Schwarzenegger have been calling him nonstop.

A) it doesn't cost $3.4 million

B) I'm sure there are more than 15 of them in the states

C) with the right amount of money, anything can be replaced
