Interesting pics of the Veyron Engine

That block is huge!
It has similar DV's to the ones on the Porsche turbo. Also, i recall reading somewhere that the turbos were mitsubishi (possibly a 16G, close to the one on the EVOIX)

WOW. This is one incredible piece of engineering. However, I do have one observation; For a car that has such a "cleanly engineered" look from the outside (especially the interior) the engine really looks overly busy and thrown together.

Oh man, that thing is FAR from thrown together. There is so much plumbing, so many intake and cooling needs, etc. That was the biggest thing in keeping the Veyron from launching sooner: Getting it sorted to put all that power out without overheating the thing.

Amazing - I'd love to see a build video.

Incredible pics! That's really cool to see since you you really don't get to see much of the engine once it's bolted in the car. Thanks for sharing!

I hear you Chris. I really appreciate what they accomplished and I am a HUGE fan of the Veyron and everything it represents from an engineering standpoint. I am just saying that it lacks the pure visual engineering beauty of something like a McLaren F1 or a Zonda R.

My thoughts exactly. The engine just looks so cluttered because of all of the electrical connectors and plumbing. Definitely an amazing feat in engineering.

I hear you - the Carrera GT's engine bay is a thing of beauty and compactness, too...

The Zonda is my "it" supercar - it's perfect to me.
