Gotta love fish!

It's my last hand at my local $1-2 game. I've got my chips racked up and am ready to leave when i'm on the button and am dealt A J suited. The table is playing lose, and by the time it gets to me it's $10 to call. Being on the button I feel like I need to make a move. I raise it to $30 and get one caller

The flop is 10 10 Q. The guy in front of me bets $15 and I'm just not feeling it. I figure if he has the 10, he'd check it to me as it's a rainbow flop. So, I raise to $45, and he calls. Now I'm a little puzzled, maybe he does have the 10. Next card is an A...he bets $20, I call because I'm now curious. The river is another A......he checks....I move all in approx $250..............he sits and thinks about it for about 10 minutes before he finally calls......with the QUEEN!!!! (I was actually PISSED at myself for going all in and not making a value bet to suck some money out of him  )

Wow!

dstylezs is an unknown quantity at this point
Whats there to be pissed about?... you got all your money in with the best hand and the donkey called you.. value bet only means you might only get a call and not an all in from him loosing the possibility of doubling up (which you did anyways)... either way.. i like fish.. but love WHALES! haha

I wasn't pissed about the overall hand.

I was originally pissed at myself for going all in because I thought there was no way I would get the call even if he had the 10. A $40 bet would have made the 10 call in many instances. But overall, it all worked out better then expected

I see... you were pissed just after you made the bet. I thought you were still pissed now, and was wondering why as well.

Nice hand. That's hilarious. When I flop trips or a set, I love to bet it because people always think like you and think no way I'd do that... especially a small bet like he did. They put you on the other card (Q in this case) and never the trips (10's in this case). Also, even if people have nothing, they'll put me on the Q, and try and represent the 10 as a bluff... I love love love that.

One other thing... I like the All in bet because to some it looks like a bluff or last ditch effort to win with a weaker hand.

Yea, i do funny things with my trips....I check, I bet big....just depends how i'm feeling the players i'm facing

I do a lot of bluffs and show.....and then tighten up my game and it makes tons of people call big bets

I don't know how he calls there. Horrendous call. A 10 would call there half the time in my experience. People have a hard time laying that shit down. And a $15 bet into what im guessing was like an $80 pot is just gross. You gotta smash that pot every time like you did with that kind of bet. Most good players would bet that ten especially with the reraiser behind them. But not $15. Good hand, good all in. Don't get pissed about making a value bet. You're not supposed to make a value bet there unless you're positive you're playing against the Q. Since the Q usually never calls there (this guy did, but 99.999% of the time, it doesn't), you gotta push there and hope a ten calls.

I hit quad Aces two times last night

1 time I was soooo close to hitting the 160K bad beat Jackpot

I have A3 Flop is A A 3 then A 6

The other guy had pocket kings. Had my 3 been a 6 or higher I'd be 32K richer!!

Good news is, I got paid big time on both of them

You don't need to use both hole cards to win the bad beat jackpot? Why would the 6 make a difference?

You do at my casino, both hole cards have to play You can match the board, so if I had a 6, it'd be good.

Yeah that's what I meant. Both hole cards have to play to make your hand at the casino I used to go to too. I don't get your casinos rules though. If you can match the board, why doesn't the 3 come into play for the BB jackpot?
