Pretty much every player in the league talks trash during games.
Only one team has thrown itself a championship party before playing a single game together, has that party feature 3 players instead of the whole team, has one of the players make a media circus out of his decision, tattoos a huge "Chosen 1" across his back, and names himself "King"

...then theres all the talk of "7 championships" before winning even one, the famous, "you all have to go back to your miserable lives" speech, the endless string of stupid quotes by LBJ...
Like I said before, LBJ should take a page from Durant and shut his mouth, play like a champion and win championships....assuming he is capable of that. Good money says he is not.

You guys have selective memory. Every high caliber free agent has a welcoming event where he says the same thing Lebron said. I remember going back to Dr J, Shaq at LA, Miami and finally Boston saying the same exact thing. They are salesmen. Come on!

It's the way that it's said and done, combined with how much goodwill the selected athlete has built up. Despite Shaq's antics and problems with Kobe in LA, he was (and still is) funny, endearing and often self-depreciating. Even when LeBron pretends to act like he doesn't think he's the greatest thing ever, it's positively dripping with insincerity. And he belies it with the other 95% of his comments.
Kobe, for example, has obviously had all sorts of problems, and actually probably almost as many people hate him as hate LeBron. But playing in LA has invaluable history on its side, and Kobe gets the benefit of that. Plus he's the closest thing to Jordan there may ever be. The things he does on the court are out of this world - and he's got a handful of rings to show for it. LeBron is a muscle player, and that's not as entertaining to watch, or as desirable to emulate or admire. Kids want to play like Jordan, Dr. J, Kobe, etc. They don't want to crab-walk and whine their way to a triple double.
He's getting a bit better at closing out games and appearing present, but you NEVER even questioned that from Jordan, Bird, Kobe, Magic, Kareem, Hakeem, Isaiah, etc. Sure, LeBron has a lot of pressure on him, but he's completely responsible for that, and he's the only one who can live up to that or not.

Hi,
Losing a game at the free throw line must've been frustrating.
Cheers,
Nik

I will give you credit for everything you said EXCEPT,
Kids want to play like Jordan, Dr. J, Kobe, etc. They don't want to crab-walk and whine their way to a triple double.
That last sentence had Skip Bayless written all over it

(Video) NBA Finals Trash Talk: Kevin Durant Tells Dwyane Wade He’s Too Small! | Big Nat - 106-5 The Beat - Richmond, Virginia
If Wade had a few more inches Durant would have thrown a brick.
I like on the court shit talking. No ones better than the king at it.
