I kept texting Justin that Joe Hart kept pulling a stupid face... one looked like he was doing the haka.

 

I got a bad feeling for thursday. Somehow we never managed to win vs Italy in a big tourney.

 

italy deserved to go through, i wouldn't say they deserved to "win" but they were the better team and all respect to hodgson he should chin up and he has nothing to apologize for.

+1 on milner but tbh there is no one to replace him.
fvcking penalties with england break my heart, all the time i felt like it was 2004 all over again .. i had this deja vu feeling yesterday of how england lost to portugal back then .. and it SUCKED.
ps: ashley cole gets a pass because he is a chelsea player and he scored in the CL pks, but seriously because he is the most consistent england player in the tournament imho

Rooney & Young definitely let the side down last night, I'm sorry but they just weren't good enough.

Right midfield has always been a difficult position to fill since the loss of Beckham, I'd like to think that if Martin Kelly was fit, he could have slotted into right back and allowed Glen Johnson to press forward in right midfield.

This is something that I only really picked up on yesterday how confident and natural going forward is for Glen, I felt like he was having to play both his and Milner's role.

Gerrard is an incredible leader, like Pirlo he has the ability to control the game however it was going forward from Gerrard Young/Carroll/Rooney all got in eachothers way, very poor.

England got as far as they deserved too and they wasn't 'cheated' out of anything. We should bow out gracefully and accept that.

 

England is a country that has been living in denial for as long as I can remember. They just aren't a very good football nation and haven't been for a very long time. Still they always get their hopes up EVERY TIME and seem to honestly believe they have a team that can win a major tournament.

Maybe now England will wake up and realize the truth. Imo they were lucky to even go to the quarters. Italy isn't even close to being as good as they were 2006, yet they completely dominated the game yesterday. On thursday we will see how good Germany really is. I still hold them as a big favourite but Italy will be the toughest opponent so far.
