I wish. I think it became clear that they weren't going to let him go - maybe more money, but it didn't look like it. Plus Lille is still in the Champions League, so that's not a big carrot for us to dangle like it is with other players.

 

I think Mertesacker is a more important pickup than Arteta and Benayoun. If he can fit in with Vermaelen, Wojciech Szczęsny and Koscielny then we'll have (officially) the hardest-to-spell back line in the EPL!

Modric not moving could be a cancer for Spurs, his head is not with the team. It was painful watching him play and get sub'd in the match against City.

Tottenham claimed Chelsea offered 60 million in the end, which I think is BS. Modric should be a $15-20 million buy, not $40 mill.
