The Forbes List Of Most Valuable Sports Franchises

Some of these are shocking.

Ferrari at 13 while McLaren is at 37. Maybe that's why Lewis ran out of fuel at Silverstone.

The Yankees are worth nearly $1 billion more than the Red Sox. I guess that puts a lot of arguments to rest. . .

Here is a link to the list and a cool article.

Just Short Of A Billion

And because I know what a bunch of lazy bastards you guys are, here is the list without having to click on the link.

Wow, what's surprising to me is how there are only two NBA teams on that list, and of all that, the KNICKS - who are ranked ahead of the Lakers.

^ Agreed. It is amazing.

All 32 NFL teams make the list. I guess it is America's game.

I think that list is a bit odd personally. I don't see how the Philles are at the bottom (of the 50) with teams like the Mets, Dodgers and Pirates above them. The Phillies have been ranked as the team with the number 1 attendance ratio etc.

Granted I'm a bit biased but still.

^ I would wager that ticket sales make up the smallest portion of revenue for these teams.

The biggest money is TV revenue and merchandise sales. If you look at it like that, it makes more sense.

Forbes is pretty good at this stuff.

Dana dont forget their buildings make up a huge piece of the worth as well. While Fenway is a classic building the New Yankee Stadium adds a huge chuck of change to that #.

Meh, I would argue the valuation methodology is flawed
