British Open Banter Thread

I guess I'll be the resident golf guy and start it off. It seems there's some more interest among members in golf.

I really think it would be interesting if Daly manages to hold his game together, too early to tell.

Gotta love JD. Such a great, and accurate, representation of my home! I'm pulling for him.

Still Rory Mcilroy...wow!

Plus, the kids never shot higher than a 69 in 9 competitive rounds at St. Andrews. If he does that again, he'll be hoisting the Claret Jug on Sunday most likely.

Plus, that is one sweet swing...

I want to say that Rory always does well there, but he's only a kid, but in fact he actually does always do well there ( British Open). He bombs it off the tee, so does Daly. It comes down to who makes the most putts on Sunday just like every other tournament, but today the course was for the taking in the morning rounds.

hope Daly can keep it together, would be great to see him win this.

Oosthuizen was lucky to get out early and avoid the wind. That was some nasty stuff they were dealing with

I've definitely had a 17 shot difference between rounds...the problem is that it's usually between 81 and 98,

Seriously though...Rory's round today shows just how much the weather can affect scoring. It was awful the later 1/2 of the day. Wood's 73 was pretty impressive as folks were imploding.

So...does Louis keep it together?

I would not have guessed anyone would be -15 at this point prior to Thursday. It's nearly a crap shoot to end up there with the proper tee time it seems, not to take anything away from the players at the top. Who knows what Sunday will bring. It appears Louis, aka Peter Oosterhuis, is on top of his game for sure. I noticed a couple of things about his swing that are iffy at impact that require timing (from my years of analyzing golf swings on video), so we'll see how it holds out under pressure. If the course conditions and wind continue to get more challenging late in the afternoon, the winner might not come from the last groups even with a formidable lead.
