Mourinho wants to coach Rooney

Sky Sports | Football News | Premier League | Manchester United | Mourinho reveals Rooney desire

I would love to see that happen. It fits completely into my belief that after a stint at the Bernebeu, Mourinho will take over when Sir Alex retires at United. Rooney will be about 28 or so...

Also, I was watching the "Goals of the Season" from the EPL today. I have to say, Cesc Fabregas is absolute quality. His service, his goals... amazing. United really needs another playmaker in the mold of a Seedorf, Fabregas, Ronaldo to unlock the scoring potential. Most of Rooney's goals this season were products of his own effort.

I honestly dont think there's anyone else out there except Mourinho, who could fill those shoes.

I agree completely. Mourinho has the drive and the ambition to help Man Utd achieve what they are capable of...not to mention draft in players suited to the task.

I think they should actively pursue midfielders who have proven their ability to create plays and take accurate shots, as they've been lacking in that department ever since Ronaldo left...Berba's just not cutting it, and Rooney needs more support. I'd love to see what Benayoun or Babel could do in Man Utd.

You just can't keep it together can you?

As far as United's needs, they need a guy like Diego or Van der Vaart to provide Rooney with service. A guy like Fabregas or Xavi would be great, but unlikely to be attainable. Rooney has proven he can hold the scoring line himself, but he really needed someone like Ronaldo to put those passes in and be a scoring threat as well...
