Here is a sound you never want to hear again

Yes sir, and nobody says "I told you so" as much as I do daily. I was lucky to have only lost feeling in my lips, and gained a scar that is barely noticeable (for looking like a baseball when it happened).
A visor, no matter how large would not have saved my face from the cut though.
I too wear a full cage these days, and shake my head at kids playing in beer leagues who don't. Not that it matters, but I am a very skilled player, and see kids who can barely stand on skates playing with just a helmet on to "look like a pro".

Dana I didn't know
Jon I totally agree with you. Why not wear a cage so the other 99% of your life not Hockey you aren't mangled.

you're also swinging your sticks at head height all game. That's frowned upon in hockey.

Personally I've played both hockey and lacrosse for years, I've had more injuries palying lacrosse then in hockey. I've also always worn a cage my entire hockey career as well.

Also, in lacrosse you are shown to use the defenseman's head to screen your shots from the goalie. I in my senior season I cracked four helmets. If they were screening shots head high in hockey there would be masks for sure.
