McEnroe Dubs Roger Federer Greatest Male Tennis Player Of All Time

That's a very tall claim.

What do you think?

That's a tall claim being there are a lot of others (Ash, Sampras, J.Mac, Connors, etc). I have to agree though that Federer tops the list.

I always get a bit wrinkled when I hear "best ever."

The term is just used too much today in sports.

People were calling Peyton Manning the best QB ever just before the Superbowl.

What are they saying now?

Otto Graham won 7 Superbowls, Terry Bradshaw won 5, Troy Aikman and Tom Brady 3 each.

It is just hard, in the face of a ton of history, to say who is the best ever in any sport.

The only place it may be acceptable is when speaking of Michael Jordan and basketball (and I hate Jordan).
