Congrats to Girardi on his first win as the Yanks coach and to Matsui for his 6 RBI's in one game. And everyone thought Mattingly should have been made the coach...

On a side note, Utley tied Reggie Jackson for most homers in a Series. Pretty damn impressive!

I can't imagine a better way to win this world series. First year in the new stadium, Andy vs. Pedro in game 6. You can say what you want about them buying players, but this is the first time since 2000 the Yankees reminded me of the old teams who played to win, not for personal stats. They deserved this championship, and it is nice to see the newer guys get a ring along side guys like Jeter, Andy, Mariano and Posada.

 

Congrats to the Yanks...Matsui had a hell of a game...Japanese baseball fans should also be very proud...Ryan Howard needs to make contact with the baseball in the World Series if he is going to play in it...

Did a Red Sox fan really just say that? Do you know what the definition of hypocrite is? I seem to remember a certain team going 86 years without a world series and magically winning two after their payroll quadrupled.

 

I bet if the Florida Gators or any other SEC football team played the Yankees they would categorically defeat the Yankees...at Yankee stadium...with a 2 man pitching rotation...while wearing football gear...
