The United boss believes Barcelona fully deserved their Champions League win.
Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson admitted his side had been beaten by a better team after watching his side lose 2-0 to Barcelona in the Champions League final.
Samuel Eto’o opened the scoring early in the first half and speaking to Sky Sports after the game the United boss admitted that the first goal had been crucial.
“I think the first goal was a killer for us, it was their first attack and they scored,” he said.
“We had started brightly but we got a bit nervous after that and of course with a goal lead, they could keep the ball all night.”
Lionel Messi added a second goal after the interval and Ferguson revealed that he felt his side had been second-best in the Stadio Olimpico.
“In fairness we were beaten by a better team,” he explained.
“We weren’t at our best – after the first goal it was very difficult for us.
“They defended quite well actually, we thought we could get at their back four better than we did.”
Yet despite the defeat the Scot insisted his side would learn from the experience and would bounce back.
“[Losing] that’s the best part of the game, because in adversity you always move forwards quicker,” he added.
“Of course we are disappointed but we are a young team and we can improve.”

That guy is the furtherest thing from a class act. He was well beaten on the night and couldn't come up with a single thing to complain about, at least not in front of the camera. I would've loved to see him in Guus Hiddink place after the Barca Chelsea game. A class act is John Terry going into Barca's dressing room to shake all the players hands after the game. Anyways Congrats to all you Barca fans. You deserved it on the night.
