Major Brain Cramp by Tampa Bay Manager Joe Maddon!

Boy. You don't see this every day.

You kind of need to understand the rules of baseball a bit to catch this monumental error. But if they lose the game, Maddon should lose a day's pay.

Evan Longoria - 3B - Tampa Bay Rays - May 17 2009 2:03PM est - Top Rotoworld.com News

News: The Rays listed two third basemen on their lineup card on Sunday, causing them to lose their designated hitter.

Impact: The plan was for Evan Longoria to DH and bat third on Sunday, but he was listed at third, along with Ben Zobrist. Since he didn't take a position in the top of the first, the Rays have now had to go to starting pitcher Andy Sonnanstine as their No. 3 hitter.

Yes. And they won the game 7-5. That's why this story died a quick death. Had they lost the game, it would have been all over the news.

Good catch brother.
