Iniesta: Everyone At Barcelona Scored The Goal Against Chelsea
Barca’s protagonist in London has downplayed his hero status as he praised his entire team.
Andres Iniesta scored one of the more important goals of his career for Barcelona on Wednesday night as his 92nd minute equalizer at Chelsea sent the team to the final of the Champions League and in the process, kept his club’s hopes of a treble well and truly alive.
The modest attacker, however, refused to bask in the spotlight as he credited the entire team for the pivotal injury-time goal at Stamford Bridge.
“I am glad to have contributed to the joy of the fans. To see the happiness on their faces in invaluable,” he said in an interview with Barca TV.
“I believe that Barcelona deserved to be in the final because of everything we’ve done throughout the season. We needed luck on our side in that match, but we stayed true to our football.
“But it was destiny that kept us in the game. It was destiny that saw Valdes saved a shot from Drogba with his foot; that Toure played a great game when he had to cover for Abidal, and that we played with 10 men for more than 20 minutes. This goal was scored by everyone,” he elaborated.
The 24-year-old, who will celebrate his birthday on May 11, has continued to pledge his future and loyalty to the Blaugrana colors following his heroics.
“This is a very special moment in my life,” he beamed. “Barcelona and Catalunya have given me everything and now, I want to dedicate my sporting career to Barca.
“We are going through an extraordinary period after leaving behind two very bad seasons. But the best is yet to come.”
Pep Guardiola’s men will turn their focus back to domestic action this Sunday when they play host to Villarreal and they will have a chance to officially wrap up the title before setting their sights on the Copa del Rey final on May 13.

Interesting how we've still haven't heard from the mighty Ovrebo. Must be too busy wiping Platini's a$$.

I never thought Liverpool supporters would be pro-Chelsea.
Myself included...
I guess it's fairness we're looking for.
On a brighter note, that Essien goal on the volley was pure magic ... People completely forgot about it after a frantic end to an otherwise beautiful game.

No offense, but it's VERY easy to be classy when you win the game. Very hard when you feel cheated.
