LeBron James Named NBA Most Valuable Player

Not a big shock. Kobe was second and Wade third.

Cleveland Cavaliers forward LeBron James crowned with first MVP in sixth season - ESPN

Hard to argue with that order, even though I am a Kobe fan.

Love it... especially because it means Kobe isn't the MVP

Kobe will be finals MVP and NBA champion for the 4th time.

LeBron will join the long list of regular season MVP's whose team did not win the title the year of the award.

(No I am not bitter )

i've thought about this some and i think Chauncey got completely robbed - yes, cleveland had the best record but did *anyone* expect Denver to take the #2 seed? and would Denver even be an #8 seed without him?

to me, he's the true MVP this season.

Pendulum's swung back to individuals who put up stellar stats, play great on both ends AND make their team better overall (esp. when that team blows otherwise). I never liked the multiple MVP awards for Nash when he was surrounded by a solid team and he was a major defensive liability.

LBJ did it on both ends of the court (second in defensive POY vote). It's debatable whether the Cavs are even a playoff team in the Leastern Conference if they had no LBJ.
