Jose Mourinho: Chelsea Are 'Embarrassing'
Jose Mourinho is at it again, this time claiming the Premier League is nowhere near as good since his departure...
Inter manager Jose Mourinho has hit out at the Premier League, insisting it has become uncompetitive since his departure and describing his former Chelsea side as an embarrassment.
Speaking ahead of his side’s trip to face Manchester United in the Champions League in midweek, Mourinho claimed that since his departure no manager had been able to create a team to rival Sir Alex Ferguson’s.
“Yes, Manchester United are the best in England but you have to ask how good has The Premier League been since I left?” said Mourinho to the News of the World.
“United have won it with ease since I have gone because no manager has put together a team that can rival them.
“They have a great squad but are their players really that much better than Chelsea’s or Liverpool’s? I don’t think so. So something else must be the problem and somebody has to take responsibility for that.”
Manchester United currently lead the Premier League, seven points ahead of both Chelsea and Liverpool and 16 points ahead of Arsenal, having played a game less than all three teams.
Of course, the Portuguese won two Premier League titles during his tenure at Stamford Bridge and he insisted that had he remained in England, he would not have allowed his team to fall so far behind Manchester United.
“Chelsea have had no stability. Arsenal are nowhere and Liverpool threatened but I don’t think anybody really thought they were ever going to win it,” explained the Inter boss.
“I would not allow a team of mine to be so far behind. It is embarrassing in early March.”
Mourinho will be back in England on Wednesday night as Inter face Manchester United at Old Trafford in the second leg of their Champions League clash.

You just love to hate that guy. I do miss his crazy press releases. But i think his comments are out of line. Serie A and La Liga are nowhere as good and entertaining as the Premier League. Inter and Barca have been on cruise control at the top from the start they both currently have 7 and 6 points advantages respectively and are fairly comfortable. I believe the depth of the United squad is a main factor in their good form of late. But they still look dodgy at times. And I bet Ferguson knows the premier league title is far from done and dusted.
