Inter Director Defends Adriano’s Contraversial Strike

Inter strengthened their grasp on the Serie A leadership last night with a 2-1 success over Milan in the Derby della Madonnina. Goals from Adriano and Dejan Stankovic proved crucial for the Nerazzurri.

However, there was controversy as ‘L’Imperatore’ seemed to net the opener with his arm.

“Inter were not helped,” Beneamata chief executive Ernesto Paolillo blasted on Radio Radio TV this morning.

“There were a few dubious decisions, though. I am referring to the fact that [Massimo] Ambrosini was not sent-off.

“[Referee designator Pierluigi] Collina and [Italian Referees’ Association president Cesare] Gussoni [have] said that when the ball is headed and then slides onto the arm it is not a handling offence.”

Meanwhile, there have been rumours that Inter could launch an assault on Roma midfielder Alberto Aquilani, who has yet to pen a contract extension with the Eternal City outfit.

“We do not intend to capture any Roma players,” insisted Paolillo. “Anyway, it is still too early to discuss this kind of thing. We need to focus on winning the championship.”

Adriano was magnificent yesterday. Also, both goalkeepers played spectacularly... The score could have easily been 5-2 Inter.

Does shoulder count as "handball"? I don't think so... Also, Inzaghi needs to shut the f#$k up - he was offside each time he was flagged.

That's funny...

Also, I LOVED the television coverage of the derby. The aerial cameras, the ground angles, etc. - amazing. Some of those views looked like I was right behind Zlatan and Adriano...
