Reports out of Germany indicate that Lukas Podolski is to end his unhappy spell at Bayern Munich by moving back to 1. FC Cologne in summer.

The German international is supposedly on the verge of penning a four-year contract worth €3m a year, while the transfer fee for Bayern is in the area of €10m.

Officials from Die Geissböcke have told 'Kölner Express' that Podolski, while not yet a Cologne player, is set to sign soon, and will not be the only new arrival this winter.

Meanwhile Bayern Munich's general manager, Uli Hoeness, acknowledged that a deal was very likely. He said today, "I think that tomorrow (Monday) the transfer will take place."
