The details are being finalised in the deal that will see the 24-year-old central defender, Thiago Silva formerly of Fluminense, join the Rossoneri.

Thiago Silva’s Brazilian club will be paid a sum of €10 million, with the player himself set to sign a four year contract, worth €2.5 million a year, according to Datasport.it.

The defender will have to wait until June next year to join up with the club however, as was the case with his fellow Brazilian Pato, who was unable to join the Rossoneri immediately due to an age restriction. In this case though, a January move is not possible because the Milanese club cannot bring in another non-EU player as their quota is full.

The 24-year-old is expected to undergo his medical first thing in the morning, and if all goes well, then the deal will be in place for him to join the Rossoneri at the conclusion of the season, which will thus further increase the depth of Brazilian talent already at the club.

The player will be a great addition to the club’s defensive ranks, as he is quite a talented player. The Italian giants will be thankful to have finally sealed the signing, as they were made to work to fight off stiff competition from Inter, Villarreal and Chelsea.
