Fighting a ticket
Does anyone have any examples of fighting a speeding ticket by trial by declaration? I got a driving award a bit over a week ago. He said he was going 80 and I passed him. I never saw him (obviously) so I can't be sure of the circumstances at the time, but I only recall breaking 80 once and that was well before he was behind me.
I'm also open to hiring an expert to fight this for me. Any recommendations?

I spent about a year fighting a ticket. I did a TBD and lost, then asked for a trial de novo and eventually hired an attorney to represent me. All I wanted was traffic school and that's what I ended up getting. Let me know if you want the name of the guys I used.

By all means, shoot it my way. Thanks.
I've done TBD once before for a one of those pedestrian in a crosswalk tickets I got that was clearly BS. I just typed 8 pages of nonsense, I'm sure he was just too lazy to read it all

They are all over the Internet.
The key is hoping that the officer doesn't answer the declaration.
If he does, you will likely be in for a tough fight.
But my experience has been that only a fraction of officers ever even respond.
If the officer does not respond, you win by default.

I've done this 3-4 times and always won... (knock on wood)
I'll delay the ticket for as long as possible (which is a pretty long time) then do a TBD, and state that I was going with the flow of traffic, etc. Even did a TBD for the wife's Red Light ticket ($490) and got it refunded, I did my research though and found out the camera that took the picture was an older model not very reliable, stated my case (about a page long) and got the money back, and penalty removed. Good Luck!

Stan is what you want if you get charged with 23103 or 22348b.
For your garden variety speeding tickets, try TBD first. Oh, you can also ask for a real judge once you are at your trial de novo which is almost 100% of the time presided by a commissioner.
