Does anyone in Florida have any Tile job connections?
My g/f is graduating school in a couple of weeks and we are considering applying for her to get jobs in Florida. I have wanted to live there my whole life and that isn't in question.I know about the rain/heat/humidity/sun yada yada yada.
Now, does anyone know any contractors or flooring people that need quality tile setters? I have my own van, tools, insurance, ect. 100% professional with exceptional results. If anyone has a contact that I could forward some information, pictures, ect. I would seriously consider moving down. Obviously a large decision, any input would be great!

Temp solution... find out who handles the installs for Home Depot in south florida. Aply with them. The process will take a month or so to get your background check done so plan ahead.
I run an office of Romanoff Floor Covering in Lexington and we handle the installs for HD for most of the Southeast with the exception of Florida. I know I am always looking for a good tile guy so I can imagine that the company who handles florida would be too.
If you want to work in GA or AL let me know and I can recommend you to my collegues in those states... Or head to Lexington KY.

Based on the cratered housing/construction market that is FL you might find thousands of tile setters unemployed. There is a large contingency of Haitians and Cubans everywhere in FL. They keep a tight network and help there own. If you are white, FL at best would be a job here and there but hard to find steady enough to be worth relocating to. JMHO. However GL with your decision.
